Even though I hung out with my favorite people last week, I still desperately needed quiet time this weekend. I'm starting to think maybe extroverts are even more exhausting than introverts, even the ones who are my friends. Or maybe it's just those two particular extroverts are getting on my nerves. Wish I knew how to tell them to back the fuck off, bc I'm getting to the point where I start screaming whenever I see their texts. Some of it is that my phone only has space for one text at a time and some of it is that I'm very busy these days.

My sister invited me to Crossfit Fri night, but I got out of work about 15mins too late :( I was extra-sad about this when I found out my fave coach was working that night, except that he apparently asked her how she got so out of shape. (Gosh, the chronic fatigue syndrome might have something to do with that, although not believing in lifting might do it too.)

Instead, I went home, realized that I'd get nothing done, read a book and went to bed. Woke up wicked early, but after almost 9 hours. Can't say I was a useful member of society for all that, but in the afternoon I washed two loads of laundry, backed up my computer, and went to Fairway. Unfortunately, the backup decided to take forever all night, even though I'd done it before, so I didn't get to futz with files until morning, which I'd wanted to spend Sat doing :(

Fairway had gobloads of useful stuff for my trip and I've now visited all but one of the available supermarkets, so my research on that topic is complete. Just need to write out the menu for the trip, buy the final Mountain House meals at EMS, and start repackaging everything.

I also randomly decided to buy pumpkin tortellini for Sunday's hike, which seemed dumb as I cooked it the next morning, but not so much at lunch time. the hike )

One of the guys on the hike lives across town and gave me a ride home, commenting, "I went on the same hike as you: knowing how my feet feel, I can take you to your door." Teehee. Read a book and went to bed.

I was a bit sore, so I took some Tylenol PM. Unfortunately, it didn't do much: I had trouble falling asleep and had worrying dreams all night. Maybe I'm not supposed to get 3 nights in a row of good sleep, no matter how good my sleep hygiene? grr.

I wore the boots I've been using for stairwork in my building, which are the first boots I bought as an adult: they're very heavy, but I've been using crappy gear (heavy boots, pack with no hip belt) for all my training hikes in hopes that using space-age gear on the real one will make it that much easier. I wore the same boots last week too, but somehow this week, I got a 1" bloody blister next to one of my calluses. It hasn't popped and I'm trying to decide what to do about it bc I need perfect feet for Sunday.

I'm also debating what to do with the old boots. Did they really make boots in which you can't replace the insoles?? Sun morning, I managed to find the lovely, broken-in boots I used on Kili: I suppose I really ought to toss the old boots or =only= use them for stairwork.
