Out with the new, In with the old
Oct. 5th, 2009 06:26 amAfter reviewing recent history, I'm afraid Spider is right about sex the first time being the best :(
Sat I went for a facial at my old place in Chinatown. I'd love to go for facials in my neighborhood, but after doing the math, I realized I could take a cab to Chinatown and back - and buy dim sum for all my siblings - and still come out ahead. d'oh! I had "Sharon" this time and her massage was so excellent, I fell into a deep sleep during the final mask. I happily signed up for a package of 10.
And then I was so tired, I went to bed at 8 that night and slept (with a 1-hr intermission) until 8:30 the next morning. Opened 6 weeks of mail, puttered a little, and went to my first corde lisse class. ( skill trumps strength ) Guess I'll have to practice :)
I stopped by Staples on my way home, hoping to get such-and-such organizing tool for my projects at the apt. The price on the shelf was 3x what I'd seen online, and I didn't have my 10% off coupon, but I decided to buy it anyway, bc I was there and my time is valuable, yada yada. Then when the gal rang me up, it came to $0.54, which, uh, was reasonable enough. Yahoo!
The other bad thing about NY Trapeze School tho' is that I hadn't realized how close it is to the only White Castle in Manhattan, and um yeah.
Came home, ran 4mi, and watched half a movie while waiting for the H'sua wen hua to do its magic. It's probably just as well I have projects to work on, bc I got up early to go to Crossfit, but just saw the WOD and decided there's no way in heck I'm going. I think Crossfit is great for me, but the guy who teaches in the mornings is AWFUL. ( Rant ) Whew, I had a lot on my mind.
Just to close some open loops from recent cryptic posts... when I was shopping for gear over the summer, the fellow at EMS showed me a pair of super-awesome double boots, which I decided I'd get for Ecuador, although of course now I'm not going to Ecuador. They're good for ice climbing too, but I dunno how much of that I'll be doing either under the new superboring initiative. EMS club day, when they give 20% off everything to AMC members, forced the issue. They didn't have anything close to my size though, so no boots for me. I figure if I make it to an ice climbing festival, I can demo a pair and if I don't, I can rent/buy when necessary.
I texted the JDate dude, just to close the loop, although I started worrying that he doesn't use text. Then he texted me back and asked if I wanted to go for drinks. ARGH! I have to assume he doesn't remember me or is looking for a work-related contact (he's in my industry), bc this guy saw me lose my shit in the most horrifyingly embarrassing way ever: I'd NEVER speak to me again after what I said. The only thing I can think of is, he's still got his profile on JDate - maybe he hates it as much as I do :)
